Last Thursday evening, September 22, 2022, the Junior Varsity Pirates had a great night. We traveled to Pearsall to take on the Mavericks. It was a night of defense and the defense was fast and physical. I think a week of practice scrimmaging our Varsity helped. Noah Smoot, Lee Mills, Alex Rios, Juan Patlan and Dillan Alderete were all over the field. Chase Guevara and Princeton Menchaca had interceptions that stalled Maverick drives and our defensive line rotated 8 players to stay fresh. It was the kind of performance you’d like to have going into the open week break. We hope to be refreshed for the second half push.
Please keep our team in your prayers. In the past 2 weeks we have dealt with family operations, chemo, covid, grandparent funeral, injuries, sibling auto accidents, and those are just the big events. Our players are amazing. God bless us all.
