The Lytle Junior High Cross Country teams attended the River City Believers Academy Cross Country invitational this past weekend, September 24, 2022. The teams put on stellar performances. However, the highlight of the Meet was the girls' team performance. It was a "you had to be there to believe it" experience. The girls put on the best performance by a Lytle Junior High girls' team in the past twenty years or maybe even ever. Out of the twelve girls who ran, eleven of them hit their personal best. These young ladies were moving like never before. To put in perspective how amazingly they ran; they would have finished 4th with 107 points in the Varsity division had they run up.
In the 7th & 8th Grade girls division, the team finished 3rd out of 11 teams. In a field of 141 runners, the team finished in the respective order, Vanessa Ayala (6th), Laleina Reviera (13th), Elyse Cortinas (15th), Kaycee Galindo (17th), Addison Wagner (22nd), Sophia Herrera (51st), Emma Emery (52nd), Avery Sanchez (77th), Maekala Mata (78th), Zaira Farfan (95th), Eliana Torres (112th), and Mellanie Meza (136th).
In the 7th & 8th Grade boys division, the team finished 5th out of 18 teams. In a field of 223 runners, the team finished in the respective order, Nathan Garza (13th), Jaden Castro (18th), Weston Jackson (37th), Luke Robles (40th), Adrian Reyna (67th), Piercen Moreno (104th)
Please congratulate these fine student-athletes if you see them around.
