2022-2023 Lytle Pirate Staff Brag on this Custodian Crew!

Our Lytle staff had this to say about these amazing custodial crew, whether it's Custodian Appreciation Day in October or anytime during the year, our teammates had this to say.

We have some of the kindest, most beautiful people working to keep our building interiors gorgeous. Today as I was walking through the high school, I was stopped in my tracks by the shine coming off our newly cleaned and polished academic hallway floors. Lucky for me, the crew had just finished and agreed to let me get their photo in front of the sparkling results of their hard work. They made sure I knew that one of their crew, Eric Garcia, was missing from the photo. Also, Charles shared one of his photos with me. I love that he had photos on his phone of beautiful hallways and floors - that's taking Pirate Pride in your work! Thank you to all of you who take care of our buildings and get them ready for staff and students to come back in August. You are amazing and so important to fulfilling our mission.

-Lorrianne Migura, Director of Public Relations

“We are so blessed to have our amazing custodial and maintenance crews. They are what Pirate Pride is all about. Thanks for taking care of our facilities and making us so proud!”

-Michelle Carroll Smith, Lytle ISD Superintendent

“The custodial crew has been phenomenal. The Primary looks fantastic and shiny, we can't wait to welcome all our families and staff back to school!”

-Shavan Galindo, Primary School Principal

“Thank you all for the kind words and recognition about our custodians. I can’t say enough positive things about our custodial crew. They have done some amazing things this summer. What I find most amazing is that we only have 14 custodians and somehow they have managed to pretty much move every piece of furniture out of every classroom, beautify the floors, and then move all the furniture back. They have surprised me over and over, having to work around summer school, broken equipment, injuries, and having to go back and re-strip and re-wax floors when people walk through the wax; somehow they have managed to get just about everything done. I have no doubt they will finish up all the floors just before the campus staff returns. When you see them please say thank you to them. They have done so much in such a short time. The custodians have yet to have a break and they are definitely in need of one, thankfully they will get a much needed and well deserved break next week.

They have done a fantastic job.  I am very proud of them.”

-William Cross, Director of Operations

"The Athletic Department appreciates the hard work that it takes to get our facilities in tip-top shape. Thank you to these fabulous Custodians!"

-Lorri Wilson, Athletics Director

"I walked through the Junior High yesterday and I was very impressed by all the beautiful signs hanging up everywhere I looked! I had to put them in a collection with the rest of the photos shared this week. This album will be open if anyone wants to collaborate by adding their favorite photos of our wonderful custodians throughout the district. I added some videos of dancing in the high school hallway as they worked to deep clean classrooms over the summer. They work hard and don't forget about the importance of having fun, showing kindness and sharing smiles. They deserve the spotlight! Please add your photos!
