Yesterday afternoon, November 3, 2022, the Junior High Pirates took on Crystal City in the final game of their season. The boys were looking to leave their mark on a very impressive first season here representing the black and gold in their community! We started the game off strong with a drive that lasted nearly the entire 1st quarter before punching it in for an 8-0 lead. Our defense would put heavy pressure on their offense, forcing a safety to increase the lead to 10! However, Crystal City would not go away without a fight; putting up an impressive drive to score before the half, closing the gap 10-6.
Coming into the second half, Crystal City would continue their strong running, but the defense locked in and made a stop to give our offense the chance it needed to put the game away. With ball in hand, AJ Cantu and Angel Delarosa would maneuver their way between defenders and march the offense down the field, like they have all season long, for what would be the game-closing drive we needed. Up by 10 points once again and with the pressure heavily on Crystal City, these boys were coming from all ends of the ball flying around and hitting hard, determined not to give up the lead our offense had put together! A final stop was made, the boys were able to end the game in a "Victory Formation" and take a final kneel to celebrate what had been a tremendous season for the 7th Grade Pirates!

To our wonderful teachers and Admin who continued to support the boys throughout the season, we thank you! It was truly felt and appreciated! A big thank you to our cheerleaders for their incredible spirit and support at both home and away games! We look forward to seeing you ladies again come basketball season!
