Lytle Independent School District

The Lady Pirates played Randolph last night, December 6, 2022, at home and took the win 69-58 to take our record to 11-6 for the season. I felt like we did not get after it the way I know the girls can on defense but we will take the win and keep working harder to get to where we need to be when District rolls around. We struggled shooting, we were 23/61 and again we are taking good shots but they just were not falling. We only had 8 steals and that is a rare occasion with this team. Everyone got into the game last night and contributed in a positive way. 

We celebrated Junior Calyssa Sevier as she scored her 1-500-career points last night in the 3rd quarter. Now she is chasing that 2,000 mark which I easily see her making. She also led the team last night with 27 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 deflections, 5 steals, 1 block and 1 charge! We are proud of all her accomplishments. If you have not seen her play you are missing out. Way to go Calyssa! 

Cadee Martinez had 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. 

Katara Whitfield had 15 points, 9 rebounds and 1 assist. 

Mac Sessom had 3 points, 11 rebounds, 3 deflections and 1 block. 

Arianna Garcia had 2 points and 3 rebounds. 

Amelia Martinez had 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 deflection. 

Kaylee Diaz played some great minutes of defense for us and 2 rebounds. 

Rose Scotello had 1 rebound. 

Lunna Reyes had 4 rebounds and 1 assist. 

It was nice to play at home for a change. Thank you to everyone that came out to cheer on the basketball teams. Go Pirates!
