This past Saturday, January, 7, 2023, the Academic Team travelled down the road to participate in our 2nd practice Meet at Medina Valley High School. It was a large Meet with many 4, 5, & 6A schools participating. We were also without some of our students due to other events going on, but we made the best of it. The Social Studies team once again won 1st Place as a team, with Senior Robert Wagner taking 1st Place and Freshman Evan Syma taking 2nd Place. Senior Miguel Gonzales stepped up and filled in for one of our missing team members, which allowed us to still participate and take the team award. Miguel had never competed in Social Studies before, but he scored well enough to give us the win. Unfortunately, we did not place in other events, but we gained experience for District in March. I’m extremely proud of all our students who competed and thankful to the coaches that helped out with the Meet.
