The girls came out last night, January 17, 2023, on their home court and played the best defense we have seen in a home game. This is the team we know we are; we just have to bring that energy every night. We scored 31 points on Hondo turnovers. They could not handle the pressure from our press. We outscored them in every quarter and had a great 3rd quarter, outscoring them 20-8. We had 22 steals on the night. Amelia Martinez held Hondo’s #12 to 4 points and that was one player we knew we had to shut down. The girls played well together, the chemistry was definitely back and the exciting thing is we are just starting to peak at the right time. We are now 4-0 in District and 18-10 for the season.

We recognized the Officials last night and the Captains from both Boys and Girls Varsity teams presented them with a token of our appreciation. We were honored to have the one and only Lewis Strout as an official last night. We also had Jay Tope in the house and the crowd was fabulous as always.
We will travel to Crystal City on Friday, January 20, to take on the other 4-0 team in the District. We look forward to seeing as many people there as we can get. Go Pirates!
