3-27-2023 UIL Academic Teams Advance to Regional Competition

The Lytle High School UIL (University Interscholastic League) Academic team competed at the 28-3A District Meet this past Friday, March 24, 2023, and Saturday, March 26,2023. The students did extremely well and are advancing to the Regional Competition in almost every contest we compete in. We brought home many awards in both individual and team competitions. I am proud of all our students! They worked extremely hard and represented Lytle with pride. Most of them are involved in multiple other extracurricular events, including Band, Cross-Country, Track, Baseball, Powerlifting, ROTC, Dual Credit/PTEC, and Cheer, among other things, I am sure. They must juggle many things and manage their time well. Competing in these academic contests takes a lot of commitment and can be stressful as well. It is a testament to their dedication and desire to achieve. If you see them, please congratulate them and wish them well at the Regional Competition.

I also want to thank the coaches that helped make this happen, Alberto Salazar,  Hannalore Mueller, Ruben Gonzalez and Tammy McDonald. They are also terribly busy with other responsibilities too. Great Job Coaches!

Thank you, Mrs. Stewart, for all you do in supporting UIL Academics! And thank you Roxanne Garcia for making sure we were “paid up”.

Special tribute to Ruben Gonzalez. He is always my volunteer who helps drive the students to practice meets! Could not have done it without him!

Thank you, Armando Esquibel and Robby Pierce, for helping us with vehicles and getting to the meets!

These teams will be advancing to the Regional Contest on April 21-22, 2023 at Davenport High School.
