Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity girls captured the DISTRICT 28-3A TRACK TITLES in Cotulla on Thursday night, April 13, 2023. The Varsity girls had to come from 30 points down, 113-83, going into the last 3 events, 200m, 1600m, 4x400m, to capture their title. After great showings in the 200m and 1600m we managed to tie it at 119 heading into the 4x400m. We then proceeded to win that race by over 24 seconds to seal it and win our first girls District Track Title since 2009. They did it without running a 4x100, 4x200, no hurdlers and only one jumper. I am so proud of this group of girls. We had 26 girls participating in the Junior Varsity (13) and Varsity (13) these past two days and 13 of those were freshmen.
All the Varsity girls that finished in the top 4 will advance to Area next Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in Jourdanton.
