If you are a fan of old school smash mouth football, then you would have enjoyed the Junior Varsity Pirates last night, October 5, 2023, in strawberry land. The Pirates played hardnosed football on both sides of the ball, and they really showed how badly they wanted the WIN. The Pirate offense was able to put some long drives together, which helped keep our defense fresh. They kept the ball on the ground all night behind the offensive line, who were just putting the Poteet Aggie's defense on skates. They had offensive contributions from Damien Barco, Princeton Menchaca, and Dezel Cashion. The defense played lights out all night and were able to get the first shutout of the year. These boys started off District play with a win, and hope to carry the momentum over to next week as they get ready for the Hondo Owls. If you see these young men, please congratulate them on a hard-fought game. Thank you everyone for all you do for these student athletes. Go Pirates!
