"L.O.S.S." (Learning Opportunity, Stay Strong)
On Friday night, September 22, 2023, the Lytle Pirate Football team traveled to Pearsall to face off against the Mavericks in our final tune up before District.
Heading into the game, our expectations were definitely higher than the end result, but Pearsall challenged us all night on both sides of the football; they made us better.
I tell our players and coaches all the time, we invite opposition, obstacles, and adversities into our program because my pastor said it best, "The devil doesn't attack an empty house", so when mountains get put in front of us in every aspect of our life, we welcome those mountains so they can be moved! That's exactly what we do daily. Our hearts will be full regardless of our win-loss record. The community support is unreal, and it's a beauty to see every Friday night!
The success that we are having is due to the fact that our student-athletes have created an "attitude of belief", and "love and lead" each other every day. We will continue to do things differently like they've never been done before, and we will always take our "person over player" approach in our program!
We are on a "BYE" this week and will be back in action next Friday Night, October 6, 2023, at Poteet as we begin District play.
Thank you for "loving and leading" our students every day!
Final Score:
Pearsall 33 - Lytle 7
Overall Record: 4 - 1
