    COVID-19 Update

Effective April 6, 2020: Lytle ISD Requires Changes to Student Meal Delivery

    Dear Lytle ISD Families,

A Lytle ISD staff member who has worked at the high school campus this week has a family member who must be quarantined due to exposure to COVID-19 at his San Antonio-based workplace. Both the Lytle ISD staff member and the family member began self quarantine at home today. They are not displaying symptoms of the virus and have not tested positive for the virus.

The entire high school campus has been deeply sanitized. In an abundance of caution, we have decided that all child nutrition staff, bus driver staff, and volunteers who worked at the high school this week must also self quarantine for the next 14 days.

Due to the sudden 2-week absence of such a large number of our staff, we will have to make an immediate change to our student meal service. Starting Monday, April 6, 2020 free student meals will be available by pick up only, in two locations:

    • Lytle Primary bus pickup/dropoff area, and
    • Lytle Elementary parent pickup/dropoff area.

We want to assure our Lytle ISD families that all staff who are working to provide essential meal services are following stringent food safety procedures, wearing all CDC recommended safety equipment, and are under the close supervision of District Nurse Juanita Black and Child Nutrition Director Amie Carrillo. Our decision to be very cautious in this matter is purposeful so we can continue to safely support our students’ nutritional needs.

    Michelle Carroll Smith

    Lytle ISD Superintendent of Schools

  • 3-15-2020 Lessons from the Rings Lytle Edition

The Lytle Meets were held before Spring Break. I really appreciate all the coaches and helpers who came together to accomplish this meet. This meet allows me to find those Junior High throwers who have gained enough skill from their throwing practice to qualify for the district meet. Since we host the Meet, we were able to throw all those who come to practice. The High School threw against everyone in the District except Jourdanton so we were able to see where we would rank in a District meet.

  • 3-6-2020 Elementary Golf Club

Yesterday, March 5th, the golf team was invited to visit the elementary golf club. It seems the golf club had a “shift change” so there were a bunch of new faces. The weather cooperated and we were able to go outside and see them “whack” the ball around. Many of those kiddos were very impressive. I hope to see them on the team in the near future. Shout out to Ms. Pritchard and all she’s doing with these wonderful “future” linksters.
