Mrs. Conover's Statewide Finalist standing in the 2022 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards means she stood out in a crowded field. H-E-B received more than 1500 applications from educators all over the state and their judges had their work cut out for them in narrowing the field. In January, H-E-B's initial readers selected the 150 Teachers and 50 Principal Semi-Finalists who competed in the Regional judging. H-E-B Regional judge panels comprised of Educators, Administrators and Community Leaders chose the 40 Finalists who are being honored over the next few weeks. The judges were very impressed by Mrs. Conover's written comments and her extensive professional accomplishments.

As a Finalist, Mrs. Conover will participate in one more final judging and awards celebration from April 29 through May 1, in Austin. She'll compete with four other principal candidates, based on years of service in the classroom and grade level(s) taught. All five candidates will participate in a personal interview with a panel of distinguished judges on Friday, April 29.
