Lytle Pirate Cross Country traveled down the road to Medina Valley on Saturday, August 26, 2023, and had another great Meet! 

The Varsity boys came 2 points short on Saturday, losing to Boerne in the Varsity 5/6A division. It was Brandon Obando's first Meet back after nursing an ankle injury for 4 weeks and then training for the last 2. We will get another shot at Boerne this week.

The Varsity girls stepped up and won the Varsity 1-4A division by 14 points over 4A Bandera. I am very proud of these girls for pushing through for each other.

The Junior Varsity boys competed in the 1-4A Varsity division and came up short of 1st as they lost to 3A #10 Randolph, who was a State Qualifying team last year.

The Junior Varsity girls had a great team finish as well as they placed 2nd behind 6A Cibolo Steele. 

We had 4 high school teams with one team title and three runners-up in a competitive 5A Meet. I was very proud of what we did, and many schools took notice of what we accomplished. 

This week we will participate in probably the fastest Meet all year when we travel to River City Community Church Fields to participate in the 21st Annual FEAST/Patriots Invitational. The Varsity boys will run one more time for the year and they will run against some very fast competition. They will face two Top 10 6A schools, #2 Austin Vandergrift & #6 Round Rock, two Top 10 5A schools, #3 Georgetown & #6 Boerne Champion, and the #3 3A Great Hearts Northern Oaks amongst others. The Varsity girls will compete against 3A's #2 team Poth. Come out and support these student-athletes Saturday. They will definitely need you this weekend.
