The Lady Pirates lost to Navarro last night, November 15, 2022. The girls fell behind in the 2nd quarter and just could not pull close until 3:30 left in the 4th quarter when we made it a five-point game, but Navarro pulled away knocking down their free throws when we had to foul to get the ball back. The girls are now 1-2 in the season and will travel to Southside for a tournament. We should get five good games in and that is what we need. We are still looking rusty and out of shape. Our press is what we need to beat teams and we were dragging last night. Once this weekend is done, we will be better in those areas. The preseason is tough for a reason and the girls understand that. As long as we get better every day, this group will be fine. It does not matter where you start, it is where you finish.
