Last night, November 10, 2022, the 7th and 8th Grade girls traveled to Natalia for our first game of the season and what a night it was. 

The 7th Grade B-Team girls were excited and ready to play, even though the nerves of their first game were showing. After only a couple of weeks of practice, the girls went out there and did a great job. They were hustling down the court, playing full court man-to-man, and just went out and had fun. The girls play two, 12-minute, halves with a running clock. By the end of the game, the girls were ahead. They ended the evening with a win 18-10. 

The 7th Grade A-Team girls came out next and were excited after watching their friends and teammates on the B-team put up a win. The team came out strong in the 1st quarter and pressed after they scored. This led the girls to go up by 14 at the end of the 1st quarter. The excitement was in the 2nd quarter but the girls were still working on getting into basketball shape, so it slowed a little, but they kept up with Natalia. While Natalia scored a few points, our girls added 6 more points. After half-time, the girls came back and worked hard in the third quarter and 4th quarter to end the game with a score of 31-8. 

The 8th Grade girls came out knowing the 7th Graders put up two wins, and wanted to finish the night with a sweep. The girls came out strong, pressing and pushing the ball up the floor to put up a good lead. At the end of the 1st quarter, the girls were up by 13. They continued to push against Natalia and at the end of the half, the girls had scored 17 points. The third quarter was slow and the girls only scored two points. The 4th quarter was good and the girls came out and outscored Natalia again to end the game with a 30-15 win. 

We are so proud of these girls and are looking forward to the improvements that we know will be made this season. Please join us in congratulating them on their 1st win of the season.
