4-27-2022 Pirate Baseball Falls to Poth in 13 Innings

Lytle 2 – Poth 5

There was a playoff-type atmosphere in the air last night, April 26, 2022, at the hill. Great pitching performances and defensive plays, squandered opportunities, and clutch hitting. A share of the District title was on the line for the Lytle Pirates with a win...but, I guess it wasn't meant to be. We battled and battled and battled. We left the field with a sour taste in our mouths but when you sit back and look at what both teams went through throughout the night, you can't help but be proud of both.

The game lasted 13 innings. Mason Davila started on the mound for the Pirates. He was relieved by Justin Deleon in the 6th. Justin had his best outing of the year on the bump throwing 6 scoreless innings of relief. Justin was relieved by Colin Wood in the 13 inning. Jair Flores was 2 - 3 with 3 sacrifice bunts.

We will finish in 3rd place this season. Our final game is this Friday at the hill versus Cotulla. Our playoff opponent is to be decided. Updates will come soon.

Overall Record: 10 - 13

District Record: 9 - 4
