4-25-2022 The Sandlot Boys!

Coach Bippert and I are old and, well I guess I will say experienced. However, we get a shot of youth and excitement every time we are around the Junior High baseball team! It's like watching “The Sandlot” every day.

The Junior High Baseball Team went into the District Tournament this past weekend, April 23, 2022, and wiped the floor with the competition!

The awesome and amazing young men have beaten everyone they have faced this year. They are the District Champs! It was a 15-hour day by the time we got home and worth every single minute! The Jourdanton Indians, just down the road, thought they had this thing in the bag and scheduled a 7-inning game for the Championship without realizing how awesome and special these young men are that wear the Black and Gold. After being tied 5-5 in the second inning of the Championship Game against the Red Team, our exceptional group of boys went on to claim the Championship Title. Along the way to this special achievement, they defeated rivals Poth and Jourdanton, not to mention every other District team.

Pirates 16 – Indians 8

Some stand outs are Mason Hill who could start on most Varsity programs as a 7th Grader, Ethan Elizondo who pitched outstandingly, Toby and Chase who make an excellent tandem up the middle and several more that make the future bright for this unique group of boys. The best parts are the character and commitment these young boys have in them and the men they will become as the years go by.

Coach Bippert, Coach Scotello and I couldn't be any prouder in such a fine group of boys and want to thank them for making baseball fun and exciting. A special shout out to Sydney Estrada for being a wonderful trainer and Collin Sprenger for an outstanding job as the team manager.
