9-13-2021 High School Cross Country at Bandera Invitational

The Lytle Pirate Cross Country team traveled to Bandera on Saturday, September 11, 2021, for their fourth Meet and the halfway point of their regular season.

The Varsity Girls started off the day with a 2nd place team finish behind host and #3 in 4A Bandera. The girls, Samantha Mujica, Moriah Gomez, and Dezmarie Ortega, had 3 Personal Records and two finished in the top 10 as Eisabel Guerrero came in 5th and Marissa Lopez 8th. They continue to improve week to week. Hopefully they can stay healthy and finish the second half strong.

The Varsity Boys were down another man Saturday but continue to push on. Jose Cortez was the lone medalist finishing 5th with Freshman Johnny Rey Alvarez and Luke Estrada improving every week and getting much-needed experience for the second half.

The Junior Varsity Girls finished 5th out of 10 with Jadyn Bojorquez again leading the way to a 3rd place finish and a new Personal Record. They too are improving week to week.

The Junior Varsity Boys finished 1st out 9 teams with 4 finishing in the top 10, Jared Aguinaga, Yandel Esquivez, Daniel Mercado, and Donovan Cortez. They are getting themselves ready in case they may have to step up and fill in at District if those other Varsity runners do not get healthy in time.
