4-1-2019 Pirate Track and Field Day 2019
This past Friday we had our 2nd Annual Pirate Track & Field Day. Lytle students and other schools from surrounding areas were invited to participate in track and field events. It was a great day to be outside and enjoy the kids’ smiles on their faces as they broke through the finish line. I have attached one picture for your enjoyment. This picture was sent to me during the meet with a quote saying, “this is what it’s all about”. I could not agree more. Mrs. Migura and Skull Studios will be putting together an album that I will share as soon as it becomes available. The signs Mrs. Migura and her staff also created looked awesome.
There are so many people I want to thank for helping make this event a success. First of all, I want to thank our special ed staff, special ed teachers, and all the paraprofessionals that helped. I especially want to thank Amanda Hill for everything. None of this would have happened if not for her. I want to thank our sponsors the VFW, Community National Bank, Lytle State Bank, and Texas Style Cuisine (Johnny & Libby Stewart). Jay Tope did an awesome job as usual with MCing the event. I want to thank all the Administrators at each campus for allowing the kids to come out and show support. I had 2 different people tell me that there was “No Way” that their campus principals would allow their teachers to take their kids out of class this time of year because STAAR is coming. I said, “Welcome to Lytle!” Thanks to Coach Jones for taking care of a little mishap we had. The Friendship club did a great job with the cheer signs. Thank You, Ms. Campa! Last but not least I want to thank Jimmy and the maintenance crew for helping set everything up and taking it down for our event. It was a lot of work. I want to thank Mrs. Smith for allowing us to host this event and hopefully we will get to continue for many years to come.
