3-3-2022 Please watch! Lytle High School Shakespeare Day 2022

In December 2021, the Freshmen Honors English I and the Senior English IV classes worked to bring the first Shakespeare Day to fruition at Lytle High School. Royalty from many faraway kingdoms were announced as honored spectators and the vibrant court jester served as a master of ceremonies for all the day's events - sword fighting, poetry reading, skits, musical performances, and dancing. This live, interactive, dramatic reenactment event created an environment in which students had to use their problem-solving skills.
 
Thanks to English 4 teacher Peggy Chandler's quick thinking and everyone's flexibility, the day moved smoothly as everyone came together. All this activity led to big appetites, and students even prepared food - from the period - to share throughout the day.
 
Students and the English Department want to thank Chef Stewart for allowing students to make and store food for the day, Ms. Bri McDonald for making the Flag for Kingdom Dahlia, Ms. Nelson and Ms. Hughes for providing period costumes and Mrs. Stewart and Mr. Gomez for encouraging students to make the day a reality and even coming to watch the kids perform.
