2-14-2023 Lady Pirates at Bi-District Champoins

Watch our Lytle Elementary students send off our athletes with lots of love. These send-offs to big games or next-level competitions happen so often at all four of our campuses. No matter the sport or event, there is mutual excitement for the big kids and the little kids as they support each other in striving for success. I'm sure all this cheering helped our Lady Pirates beat Karnes City 87-30 for the Bi District Champs title. Sweet! Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Valentine’s Day came early for your Lytle Pirates!

The girls traveled down to Karnes City last night and had a big win over the Badgers 87-30 from the tip off they could not handle our press and the aggressiveness we brought to the court. We held KC to 5 points at the half. We scored 36 points in transition and 54 points on their turnovers. We had a season high 39 steals. This was a great TEAM win with everyone getting some minutes to help us as we move on to the next round of Area Playoffs. This group came to play and are focused as we prepare for Friday's game as we checked another box off of our goal list for the season.

Stats for the game

    • Calyssa Sevier led the team with a double-double: 26 points, 7 rebounds,  4 assists, 8 deflections and 11 steals.
    • Fizz Hutton had 21 double-double points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 23 deflections and 12 steals,
    • Cadee Martinez scored 19 points, 3 rebounds, 5 deflections and 4 steals.
    • Katara Whitfield contributed 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 deflections and 4 steals.

Thank you to the Elementary for the send off. The girls loved it!

The girls will play on Friday, February 17th in Seguin at 6 pm against the winner of Hallettsville or Marion. The starters and myself will be spending Valentine’s Day in Goliad scouting our next opponent! Go Pirates!
