Over the Thanksgiving break, the Pirates went 3-0. The Pirates beat Karnes City 93-51, Friday, November 18, 2022. They also won against Fox Tech 87-31 on Monday, November 21, 2022, and beat YMLA 66-34 on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. The boys are putting up amazing stats to start the season. As a team, the Pirates are averaging 84 points and 20 steals per game with our defensive style of play. Senior Jordan Balderaz is 4th in the 3A State in scoring, averaging 26 points per game while sitting in the 4th quarter in 3 of the 4 contests. Jordan also reached a milestone, scoring 1500 points during his High School career and is chasing a very rare 2000-point career total. Defensively, the Pirates have been on a tear, averaging 20 steals per game and around 25 or more deflections per game. The Defense is led by Seniors Eli Vega, who is currently 2nd in the 3A State, averaging 6 steals per game, and Malakai Castro, who is currently 14th in the 3A State, averaging 3.7 steals per game. The boys will head into the Southwest ISD Tournament this Thursday, December 1, 2022, to face the athletic powerhouse Mcallen High School and then Southwest High. The boys will be back home on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, against Pearsall. We hope to see you there.
