Today, March 2, 2022, the Junior Varsity Tennis team took part in the Jourdanton Tennis Tournament.
Playing in Boys Singles, Freshman Giovanni Mosqueda played his very first tournament. He lost his first match and through a process of defaults, found himself in the finals in the Consolation bracket. Although he lost there, he was awarded a medal for being in the finals.
The Junior Varsity Girls Doubles, Freshmen Lia Corral and Jazmine Ruiz lost their first match and moved to the Consolation bracket. They won against Poteet and then Cole, finding themselves in the semifinals. They played hard, but lost the last match 2-8 to Jourdanton.
The Junior Varsity Doubles, Sophomore Matthew Dela Fuente and Freshman Yandel Esquivez played opponents from Beeville, Jourdanton, and Poteet to finish top of the tournament. They found themselves down in the first set and rallied back to win the second and won a 10-6 super tiebreaker.
