8-10-2023 2023 Back-To-School Convocation Celebration!
Our Lytle Pirate Convocation always feels like a family reunion. Returning Pirate Staff and newly hired Pirates come together to share hopes, dreams and goals for the new school year. Kicking off with performances from our talented band students, dancers and cheerleaders set the tone for LeeAnna Mask, President of our Lytle ISD Board of Trustees, to welcome everyone with encouraging words, "All our school programs had history-making success last year, and I'm certain we'll continue to build on that success this school year." Superintendent Michelle Carroll Smith took the stage to encourage all to be clear about why they chose education and why they stay, saying, "Keep transforming our school system so that starting with Pre-K, we provide a clear path and support for every student that guides them through college and career success." This year, Assistant Superintendent Dustin Breithaupt became game show host for an informative and funny Lytle ISD Trivia Game with more than 200 competitive participants! Director of Curriculum & Instruction Dr. Tanya Tate brought all the "warm and fuzzies" sharing real quotes submitted through our Lytle Love recognition channel. And, our Director of Human Resources, Laura Uribe-Center recognized employees who have hit milestones in their service to the district.
After enjoying a very full program, everyone rushed to meet and visit with our community partners - local businesses, organizations, and churches - who set up tables to share goodies, encouragement and information to our staff. We owe huge thanks to our Director of Strategic Initiatives and External Funding, Juliana Lingo, who brought in the most amazing folks from our community, and it was such a treat to have them here with us.
