The 8th Grade boys are fundamentally sound. They work hard every day! These boys never worry about the scoreboard because the scoreboard has taken care of itself. These boys have put their best effort and concentration into practice and games every day and I couldn’t be prouder. 

For those that were able to come and support our boys last night, January 26, 2023, I want to pass on their gratitude and say thank you. 

The “Jop Shop” B-Team suited every kid out and all kids contributed. After a bit of a slow start, they finished with determination and fire to ensure that their streak would continue. 

Coach “Jop” made some crucial halftime adjustments which ensured a victory over the Hondo Owls 9-8. Scoring was led by Dwayne Reed with 4 points, Jaden Castro with 3 points, and Aven Castro with 2 points. 

The A-Team took a few minutes to figure out how the Hondo Owls were going to try to stop us, and as soon as they did, the boys took off! Ethan Elizondo had his best game all year and led the team with 12 points. Another dominant performance by Seth Pierce, especially on defense, and 11 more points helped secure a 50 to 26 win. Nathan Garza and Weston Jackson both scored 8 points, followed by Jaden Motes with 5points, Jalen Rodriguez with 4 points, and PJ Guillen added 2 points. 

The A and B Teams will be heading down to Crystal City on Monday, January 30, 2023 to take on the Javelinas for the District Title along with an undefeated season! 

I know it is a hike, but if you can get there to support them, that would be awesome.  

We absolutely love these boys and look forward to seeing them grow into outstanding men!
