What are you doing to understand the effects of the kids missing a large portion of school last year and the dual in-person/remote instruction environments this year?
The long-term effects are still to be seen since this has not happened before. However, NWEA (www.nwea.org) has reports regarding the academic loss during the “Covid slide” as they refer to it, and these are projections since there is no controlled group to research on the lost time. It is up to parents to determine which risk is greater to their child, the risk of getting Covid or the risk of social/emotional/academic loss. We will honor, not judge, their decision.
