Lytle Primary Campus Grading Policy for Remote Instruction

Grading

In order for Primary teachers to monitor student progress for the 4th nine weeks, with emergency orders due to COVID-19:

  • Progress will not be recorded prior to April 6, 2020.

  • Beginning April 6, 2020, the new grading system goes into effect: Making Progress, Making Limited Progress, Making No Progress. 

  • Students are expected to submit through SeeSaw: 3 reading activities, 3 math activities, and 3 writing samples per week.

  • Justifiable progress is considered passing. All questions should be directed to teachers.

Information that is more specific will follow, as we get closer to the end of this school year.

Making No Progress (NP)

Making LImited Progress (LP)

Making Progress (MP)

No progress toward accomplishing the learning provided in content specific daily activities.

  • Student completes and turns in 0-1 Priority Activity per content area (Reading, Writing, Math),

AND

  • Student submits demonstration of learning to teacher according to activity specifications, but student is not demonstrating mastery of content.  Student has errors in thinking, misunderstanding of key concepts, or enough work is not completed for the teacher to measure student understanding. 

Making limited progress toward accomplishing the content specific daily activities.  

  • Student completes and turns in at least 2 Priority Activities per content area (Reading, Writing, Math),

AND

  • Student submits demonstration of learning to teacher according to activity specifications.  Student is making progress toward content understanding. Minor errors in thinking or misunderstanding of some elements may exist, but they do not impact overall understanding of the learning target. 

Making progress toward accomplishing the content specific daily activities.

  • Student completes and turns in 3 Priority Activities per content area (Reading, Writing, Math), 

AND

  • Student submits demonstration of learning to teacher according to activity specification and student exhibits mastery of content and skills. 

 

Remote Online Information for Parents

If your child is struggling, you may contact the teacher through REMIND, or through email firstname.lastname@lytleisd.org. Teachers are keeping office hours from 8-4 but have many tasks on their plates. If you contact them, they will reply back to you or your child within 24 hours.

At this time, instruction is only available through our Remote Online Instruction program found on our campus Smore. https://www.smore.com/tpejh

Please ensure that your child can use his/her device to access this program through Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi may be accessed through your home service, Smart phone hotspots, and through the Wi-Fi at the High School or Junior High campus parking lots. Parents are welcome to park in our parking lots at any time and access our Wi-Fi. Please contact your child’s teacher if you experience difficulty.
