The Lady Pirate Track team traveled down the road to Natalia on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, to try out their new track. Both teams captured first and Senior Moriah Gomez had another big day. Calyssa Sevier broke our 14-year-old 400m school record and held it for 3 minutes, then in the very next heat Moriah Gomez ran a 59.56 and broke that, becoming my first sub 1 min girl quarter miler. She, along with everyone else, had a wonderful day and enjoyed running in their new facilities.

  • 3-27-2023 UIL Academic Teams Advance to Regional Competition

The Lytle High School UIL (University Interscholastic League) Academic team competed at the 28-3A District Meet this past Friday, March 24, 2023, and Saturday, March 26,2023. The students did extremely well and are advancing to the Regional Competition in almost every contest we compete in. We brought home many awards in both individual and team competitions. I am proud of all our students! They worked extremely hard and represented Lytle with pride. Most of them are involved in multiple other extracurricular events, including Band, Cross-Country, Track, Baseball, Powerlifting, ROTC, Dual Credit/PTEC, and Cheer, among other things, I am sure. They must juggle many things and manage their time well. Competing in these academic contests takes a lot of commitment and can be stressful as well. It is a testament to their dedication and desire to achieve. If you see them, please congratulate them and wish them well at the Regional Competition.

  • 3-27-2023 AAATA Student Trainer Workshop 2023

This past Friday, March 24, 2023, we had 6 student trainers take part in the 2023 Alamo Area Athletic Trainers Association Student Trainer Workshop, which was the first time in this program's history to attend! We were part of the biggest size of student trainers, with an attendance of almost 700 with 40 school districts present. They also got to meet vendors that I use to order medical supplies/equipment as well as experience how I look for the newest tech in the sports medicine industry to bring to Lytle. They also met some colleges (UIW, UTSA, Howard College, & TLU) that offer Kinesiology Program information and Athletic Training Programs as well!
