    Last night, January 30, 2023, we traveled to the most hostile, competitive, and exciting environment I have ever seen for a Junior High match-up. I guess an undefeated season and the District title on the line had something to do with that.

  • 1-30-2023 Varsity Girls Basketball Defeat Cotulla in Hard Won Battle

    On January 27, 2023, the girls traveled down to Cotulla and won 80-65. It was a battle until the end. The girls are now 7-0 in District and 21-10 for the Season. We are ranked #21 in Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) and #9 for Texas High School Girls Basketball (TXHSGBB) and #5 for VYPESATX.

  • 1-30-2023 Board of Trustees Recognizes 2022 Fall Sports and Band Student Achievements

    On Thursday evening, January 26, 2023, the Lytle Board of Trustees held a special event to recognize the achievements of our students in fall sports and band. Superintendent Michelle Carroll Smith and Board of Trustees President LeeAnna Mask welcomed students, their families, staff and community members to the program. Says Mrs. Mask, "We are going to start by recognizing all those who make these students' remarkable achievements possible. The parents, the teachers, the administrators, coaches and band directors - all of you worked hard to be a part of the achievements we celebrate tonight."

  • 1-30-2023 RobotPirates Moves on to Semi-Regionals

    Our team arrived on campus at 6:30 am Saturday morning, January 28, 2023, ready for a long day of robotics competition. We arrived at the School of Science and Technology in San Antonio at 7:30 and began to set up our work area.

  • 1-27-2023 Junior High Girls Basketball vs Hondo

    Last night, January 26, 2023, the Junior High Lady Pirates went to Hondo to take on the Owls. We knew that this would be a challenge because the girls had been testing for two days and they were tired. We could see it on their faces. The girls definitely fought some hard physical games and while we were not all victorious, everyone pushed through and gave us everything they had.

  • 1-27-2023 8th Grade Boys Defeat Hondo Owls

    The 8th Grade boys are fundamentally sound. They work hard every day! These boys never worry about the scoreboard because the scoreboard has taken care of itself. These boys have put their best effort and concentration into practice and games every day and I couldn’t be prouder.

  • 1-26-2023 TEA Visits Lytle ISD

    On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, 20+ senior level administrators from TEA, CEN and ESC-20 spent a full day visiting classrooms across Lytle and talking with teachers, coaches and administrators regarding our implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) on each campus. And…WOW

  • 1-26-2023 January is Board Appreciation Month!

    At Monday night's January Board of Trustees meeting, January 23, 2023, our campus principals, Athletics, Special Education Department and all of our Lytle Leadership team took a few minutes to show-and-tell our Board Members how much we appreciate their guidance and support for our Lytle schools.

  • 1-25-2023 Varsity Girls Basketball Win Rivalry Game for the 7th Year in a Row!

    The girls took to the court Tuesday night, January 24, 2023, in front of a packed gym to take on our Rival Natalia and beat them 78-16, claiming the trophy for the 7th year in a row!

  • 1-25-2023 Varsity Boys Basketball Recap vs Crystal City and Natalia.

    Over the last couple of days, the Pirates went 2-0 in District with victories over Crystal City and Natalia. This past Friday, January 20, 2023, the Pirates went into one of the most hostile game environments in the state of Texas and squeezed out a tough victory 72-65 over Crystal City.

  • 1-24-2023 Lytle Powerlifting

    The Pirate Powerlifting team competed in two meets last week. A group of Freshman and Sophomore girls travelled to Natalia on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, and Freshman Janelle Massiate placed 3rd in her weight class.

  • 1-23-2023 Varsity Girls Basketball Beat Crystal City

    We knew traveling down to Crystal City was going to be a hostile environment and we were on a mission to make a statement. Crystal City has been ranked all year in TABC, so you could say we had a chip on our shoulder. On January 20, 2023, right from tipoff, the crowd was talking trash but the girls stayed focused and carried out the game plan.

    With two games left in our season the Junior High girls have been working hard to get better. On January 12, 2023, the girls drove to Cotulla to meet the Cowgirls for the second time.

  • 1-20-2023 8th Grade Boys Basketball at Dilley

    On Thursday, January 19, 2023, the Junior High Boys basketball played the most complete basketball game played all year! The 8th Grade B-Team, led by the Awesomeness that the “Jop Shop” is, started things off the right way with a 30-9 victory. The team came out a little sluggish, but turned it on when it counted, and was led in scoring by Dwayne “The Rock” Reed and Jaden "Buckets" Castro, both with 12 points.

  • 1-18-2023 Varsity Boys Basektball Hondo and Dilley Recap

    Over the past few days, the Pirates have gone 2-0 to start District Play. On Friday night, January 13, 2023, the Pirates opened-up District play, beating Dilley 109-55. I believe that was the most points scored in one game by a Lytle team since 2001.

  • 1-18-2023 Varsity Girls Basketball defeats Hondo

    The girls came out last night, January 17, 2023, on their home court and played the best defense we have seen in a home game. This is the team we know we are; we just have to bring that energy every night. We scored 31 points on Hondo turnovers.

  • 1-17-2023 Junior High Band Region Honors

    This past weekend, February 14, 2023, 26 students travelled to Pearsall for the Junior High All-Region Band auditions. The students competed against hundreds of students from around the Region for a chance to perform in the Junior High All-Region Band Clinic and Concert that will be held in February in Carrizo Springs.

  • 1-17-2023 Varsity Girls Defeat Dilley

    The girls beat Dilley on Friday night, January 13, 2023, 82-26 in front of a great crowd of loyal fans that made the road trip. Dilley could not handle our press as we forced them into 45 turnovers.
