12-23-2022 Fine Arts Night is a Jolly Good Time!
On December 14, 2022, Lytle Collegiate High School hosted community members, students and their families, as well as local businesses and organizations to join us in appreciation of the Fine Arts. The career and technical education students in Culinary Arts prepared many appetizers and desserts for all to enjoy, in addition to barista-mixed drinks offered at the Jolly Roger Coffee Company.

12-20-2022 Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Fall to SA Kennedy
The Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Team lost yesterday to SA Kennedy, 46-43. There were many opportunities to take the lead but the ball didn't want to fall in the hoop for us. I am excited to come back after the Christmas break to continue all the growth these kids have shown through the first stretch of the season. The Junior Varsity Team is 4 - 4.

ust before Thanksgiving break, our High School Admin team of Mrs. Libby Stewart, Mrs. Rebecca Glover, Mr. Reynaldo Sanchez, Jennifer Criswell and Marivel Quionez organized a College and Career Fair for all of our High School students to attend.

Last week finally slowed down for the Pirates after two back-to-back tournament weekends. The boys had 12 games in 12 days, and finished with 9-3 record over the twelve-day stretch.

The girls traveled to Poth last night, December 12, 2022. I’m not a major fan of Monday night games but we beat Poth 63-50 and kept the winning streak over them for the past three years.

12-13-2022 Varstiy Boys Basketball at Comfort Tournament
This past week, Thursday through Saturday, December 8-10, 2022, the Pirates competed in the Comfort ISD Tournament. The Pirates went 4-1 overall and won the third-place game vs Boerne Geneva.

12-12-2022 Junior High UIL Meet in Natalia
On Saturday, December 10, 2022, 43 Junior High students traveled to Natalia for UIL competition. The students that took part did a fantastic job and as coaches we could not be prouder. The hard work they put in these past few months was not for nothing because we came home with a box of medals.

12-12-2022 Elementary UIL Meet
This past Saturday, December 10, 2022, Lytle Elementary hosted the UIL Meet. There were 8 schools: Encinal, Ramirez-Burks, Lorenzo De Zavala, Benito-Juarez, Dilley, Hondo, Lytle and Natalia, and the competition was fierce. We are so proud of the students who practiced hard and took part in the Meet. Their preparation paid off!

12-12-2022 Junior Varstiy Girls Basketall vs Cole
Last Friday, December 9, 2022, the Junior Varsity Lady Pirates played Cole and won by a single point, 39-38! The girls held the lead for most of the game, but the Cole girls were tenacious and never gave up. It was a nail biter up until the end, and we are proud to have come out with the win. The high scorer was Adri Muraira with 17 points, followed by Jaylen Villarreal with 8 points.

The girls traveled to Cole on Friday, December 9, 2022, and came out with great defense and energy. We took the win 70-52. This was a big win for the girls and a great team effort.

The B-Team started slowly going down 8-0 in the first two minutes, but gathered their composure and played hard till the end of the game, securing an 18-16 last second victory.

12-7-2022 Varsity Boys Basketball vs Pearsall
Last night, December 6, 2022, the 11th ranked Pirates took on the Pearsall Mavericks and won, 100-57. From tip off, their fast-paced style of basketball was too much for the Mavericks. The entire team was locked in to a defensive game plan and executed the press and half-court defense all game.

12-7-2022 Girls Varsity Beat Randolph and Calyssa Sevier Scores 1500 Career Points!
The Lady Pirates played Randolph last night, December 6, 2022, at home and took the win 69-58 to take our record to 11-6 for the season. I felt like we did not get after it the way I know the girls can on defense but we will take the win and keep working harder to get to where we need to be when District rolls around.

12-6-2022 Varsity Boys Basketball at Southwest ISD Tournament Recap
Your 11th State Ranked Pirates competed in the Southwest ISD Tournament as the only 3A school facing some tough 4A-6A teams over five games. The Pirates started off the tournament 3-0 and advanced to the winner's bracket. During pool play, the Pirates beat Southwest 68-49, McAllen High School 78-49, and Harlingen South 68-51.
