4-27-2021 Congratulate Mr. Frank Hernandez, 2020-2021 Winner of a Lytle ISD Innovative Classroom Grant!
Frank Hernandez is the type of teacher who loves to explore innovative instructional practices such as blended learning, flexible seating, project-based learning, and enhanced technology integration. He had a vision for what his classroom would look like with new furniture, seating, and technology options that allowed his students to move, interact, explore and collaborate with more energy and enthusiasm.
Thank you to Junior High principal Libby Stewart and Brianna McDonald who is a JH Paraprofessional for her work on this fun slideshow. Watch and you'll see our Junior High staff did a great job creating some fun opportunities for these students to celebrate Texas Public Schools Week!
Drumroll, please....For your enjoyment, Lytle High School is proud to present our students reciting their pick of poems in this Virtual Poetry Cafe 2020! Special thanks to Mrs. Peggy Chandler, English teacher and ever-passionate organizer of our annual Poetry Cafe. She carries such a beautiful torch for this project and her enthusiasm inspires students to recite poems that either they wrote themselves or that they discovered, and felt compelled to share. Even in one of the most challenge-filled years in many of our memories, Mrs. Chandler pulled off another Poetry Cafe! You rock, young lady.
These young men are amazing to watch, growing up before our very eyes. Our football team jumped out to a 20 to 0 lead against Luling last Friday night, September 18th. Scoring was Justin DeLeon twice and Quen Syma once, then we had a lapse in defense to close out the half. We went to the locker room up 20-7. The second half of the game was very entertaining, to say the least. Luling started the second-half scoring and we answered every time, once by Carson Aldridge, a 69-yard run by Mark Cantu, and a fumble return for a touchdown by Sebastian Flores.
Wow again. Our young men played amazing last Friday, September 11th. I couldn’t be any prouder of the way the guys were flying around and playing physical football. Our football team took out some frustration and kept the effort going all 4 quarters. We were able to score in all three phases of the game. We scored 7 offensive touchdowns, 1 defensive touchdown, and 1 kickoff return for a score. We are proud of our Seniors; they are truly leading the team and Friday night was a culmination of that. We are making progress on the backs of these Seniors, leading the younger guys and showing them The Way.
