5-14-2021 Senior Class Scholarships
Since March 2021, Mrs. Parker, our college and readiness counselor, and I have worked to collect information on academic and extracurricular scholarships awarded to the Senior class. This group of students has worked diligently to get into universities, colleges, and vocational schools; however, acceptance into post-secondary schools is only part of the process. Scholarships are a major factor in student success, and these Seniors have amassed remarkable financial support from the schools they will attend in the summer and fall of this year.

Lytle Junior High Fun Runs 2019-2020
Last school year, Lytle Junior High worked to give back to the community. We had a monthly relay run September — January, raising money and supplies for local charities. In Fall, Junior High ran for Susan B. Komen, St. Jude’s Hospital and Haven for Hope. In November, students collected canned goods and monetary donations for the VFW. The VFW then purchased turkeys with the donations and distributed them along with the canned goods. Other relays were scheduled, but were canceled due to Covid 19. Some of the runs were themed, we wore pink and dressed as super heroes. The overall goal was to help students to think about and support others. The students helped raise $613 for Haven for Hope, $735 for Susan B. Komen, and $729 for St. Jude’s Hospital. The students enjoyed the runs and they learned to be servant leaders.
