  • 5-30-2023 Band Gold and Silver Metdalists

    On February 5, 2023, High School Band students participated in Solo and Ensemble performance competitions, advancing to the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest in Pflugerville. On Saturday, May 27, 2023, after the dust had barely settled from graduation, soloist Stefan Grigsby, a Junior, and quartet members Senior Cambri Davila, Junior Victoria Garcia, Senior Citlali Ferreira, and Senior Natalie Williams to Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest (TSSEC) held at Hendrickson High School.

  • 4-28-2023 2023 Marching Show Revewal and Other Band News!

    Today we revealed the 2023-2024 Marching Band Show to our band students. We are incredibly excited about next year, and we are super proud of the Show Reveal that our students put together; so we wanted to share the video with everyone!

  • 3-8-2023 Pirate Band Receives 5th Consecutive Sweepstakes Award!

    Yesterday, March 7, 2023, the Lytle Pirate Band attended UIL Concert and Sight Reading at Pleasanton High School. The students have been preparing their music since January, and they did not disappoint! The band earned 1s from all 3 judges on stage for their prepared music, and then they earned ones from all 3 judges in the Sight Reading room. This is the highest score that is possible to achieve! Earning a 1 at Concert and Sight Reading, in addition to the 1st division rating at the UIL Marching Contest in the fall fulfills the UIL requirements for the band to be considered a “Sweepstakes” band. This marks the 5th consecutive Sweepstakes Award that the Band has earned!

  • 2-26-2023 Junior High Region Band

    On January 14, 2023, ten students earned a place in our Region 11 Junior High All-Region Band. This past Saturday, February 25, 2023, we traveled to Carrizo Springs where students practiced for 6 hours to put on an amazing concert for family and fellow band directors. Mr. Lopez and I had a great day with our students.

  • 02-27-2023 Pirate Band UIL Solo and Ensemble

    On Saturday, February 18, 2023, five members of the Lytle Pirate Band traveled to Southwest High School to compete in UIL Solo and Ensemble. All students that attended received a 1st division rating, and most will be advancing to the State level of competition in May!

  • 1-26-2023 TEA Visits Lytle ISD

    On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, 20+ senior level administrators from TEA, CEN and ESC-20 spent a full day visiting classrooms across Lytle and talking with teachers, coaches and administrators regarding our implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) on each campus. And…WOW

  • 1-17-2023 Junior High Band Region Honors

    This past weekend, February 14, 2023, 26 students travelled to Pearsall for the Junior High All-Region Band auditions. The students competed against hundreds of students from around the Region for a chance to perform in the Junior High All-Region Band Clinic and Concert that will be held in February in Carrizo Springs.

  • 12-23-2022 Fine Arts Night is a Jolly Good Time!

    On December 14, 2022, Lytle Collegiate High School hosted community members, students and their families, as well as local businesses and organizations to join us in appreciation of the Fine Arts. The career and technical education students in Culinary Arts prepared many appetizers and desserts for all to enjoy, in addition to barista-mixed drinks offered at the Jolly Roger Coffee Company.

  • 10-25-2022 Pirate Band Makes HISTORY!

    Last Saturday, October 22, 2022, the Pirate Band competed at the 3A Area Marching Band Competition for the 5th consecutive time.

  • 10-18-2022 Pirate Band Earns 1st Division at UIL!

    Last Saturday, October 15, 2022, the Pirate Band competed at the UIL Region 11 Marching Contest among 41 other bands. The students performed their best yet and brought spectators to their feet.

  • 10-9-2022 Pirate Band Places at Competition!

    Yesterday, October 8, 2022, the Pirate Band traveled to Heroes Stadium to perform in the last Pre-UIL performance of the Marching season, at the 39th Annual Rough Rider Marching Competition.

  • 9-29-2022 Pirate Band at Hill Country Marching Festival

    Last Saturday, September 24, 2022, the Pirate Band attended the Hill Country Marching Festival in Fredericksburg. There was a total of 7 bands in the 3A division, including a band that dropped from 4A to 3A this year.

    On Friday September 2, 2022, the Pirate Band met with representatives from Culligan Water of San Antonio to accept a donation of 1 pallet of water.

  • 3-3-2022 Pirate Bands are SUPERIOR!

    The High School Band performed on Wednesday afternoon, and also earned a Superior rating from all 3 judges in the Concert portion, AND all 3 judges in Sight Reading.  Earning a 1st division rating in both Concert and Sight Reading, coupled with the 1st division rating that the Pirate Band earned at the UIL Marching Competition in October qualifies the Pirate Band for a Sweepstakes award as well!

  • 3-1-2022 Junior High Sweepstakes!

    Today, March 1, 2022, the Junior High band traveled to Hondo to compete in our UIL Concert and Sight-Reading evaluation. This is the first time since 2019 that our students traveled to perform their UIL concert music. Last year we performed in our auditorium. I am so excited to tell you the kids earned a 1st Division in both concert and sight-reading. In fact, they earned a 1st Division from all 6 judges.
