What is Skull Studios?

  • Skull Studios Club learn and practice skills to be journalists, photographers, video producers, graphics designers, and social media publishers. Students will create media products that showcase Lytle ISD events and stories.

Projects focus on increasing the communications and coverage of student, staff, academic, extracurricular, and community service activities across all Lytle campuses. Students receive credit for their contributions to media products and build their own digital portfolios that will open doors to future opportunities.

The Skull Studios Student Club is availlable for students who are interested in building their digital and media skills. Skull Studios students are provided opportunities to meet, create, compete, and further explore careers in all media technology fields during lunch and before/after school.

  • 9-9-2021 Digital Design Students Create 911 Memorial for Lytle VFW 2021

I'm so proud of our Digital Design/Skull Studios students who jumped on the opportunity to design this beautiful 911 memorial for our Lytle VFW. Thank you to Chris Clouser who reached out to our wonderful Ag instructor, Raul Flores to borrow the billboards built by Ag students and made out of recycled wooden pallets! Mr. Flores recommended Mr. Clouser get Skull Studios kids involved in creating a design to honor 3,000+ victims. You can see this memorial Friday at the High School, and then it will be moved to Lytle Main Street, near the VFW Gazebo. Spend some time today or in the coming days remembering the victims and honoring our heroes who stepped up in defense of our great nation.

Shelley Armentrout is the type of teacher who loves to explore innovative instructional practices such as blended learning, flexible seating, project-based learning, and enhanced technology integration. She had a vision for what her classroom would look like with new furniture, seating, and technology options that allowed her students to move, interact, explore and collaborate with more energy and enthusiasm. Because of this, Lytle ISD selected her as one of ten winners of our 2020 Innovative Classroom Grant Award. She had $10,000 to fund her dream classroom. • 5-18-2021 We're Going to Miss You Papa Fender - Lytle Band Students' Tribute to Mr. Mark Fender

Throughout this year, a group of Lytle band/video students, Damian Ramos, Donald Glasen, Elias Moore, Rafael Pacheco, Bella Lopez, Greg Martinez and Emiliano Peralta plotted in secret to celebrate (lament) their beloved Band Director's retirement. Mr. Mark Fender, who sometimes answered to their "Papa Fender" nickname, was delighted by the surprise-showing of this video at the Band Banquet on April 30, 2021. It is now YouTube-published for the rest of our Pirate Family to enjoy as the 2020-2021 school year comes to a close and we wish Mark Fender well in his next adventure.
