  • 12-7-2021 Watch the Video: Lytle Community Pep Rally 2021

It's that time of the year when we reflect on our successes, challenges, and learning opportunities. Our Community Pep Rally is one of our first opportunities to give students industry standard cameras who may have never touched one previously. They are nervous, very green, and they make mistakes, but it always turns out to be great learning. This video is proof that there is value in just getting them out there to see what they can do! It's a 'throwback' from a content standpoint because it just got done a couple weeks ago. Our video editor, Sarah Ytuarte, has never edited a video before - this is her first time using Adobe Premiere Pro - but a great example of student learning in our Digital Design program. If you know the students listed in the credits, tell them you're proud of them for jumping in and trying new things!

This past Spring, English III students read Farewell to Manzanar by James D. Houston and Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston. This book details the memoir of Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston, a young Japanese American in California during World War II, and the “containment” camp she and her family were forced to relocate to from their home in Long Beach.

  • 6-23-2021 A closer look at Lytle's Career and Technical Education...What happens in Ag???

In education, we all can get caught up in our own little corner of the school, busy and focused on our subjects or daily jobs. Here's a chance to venture into the world of Ag (and FFA) to see what learning looks and feels like in the shop, in the barn, and out in our back pasture. (Did you know we have a pasture and small herd of cattle?) Take some time to watch this video and learn something new and cool about our district and one of our flourishing CTE programs.

Even in one of the most challenge-filled years in many of our memories, Mrs. Chandler pulled off another Poetry Cafe! You rock, young lady.

  • 9-21-2020 Varsity Football vs Luling

These young men are amazing to watch, growing up before our very eyes. Our football team jumped out to a 20 to 0 lead against Luling last Friday night, September 18th. Scoring was Justin DeLeon twice and Quen Syma once, then we had a lapse in defense to close out the half. We went to the locker room up 20-7. The second half of the game was very entertaining, to say the least. Luling started the second-half scoring and we answered every time, once by Carson Aldridge, a 69-yard run by Mark Cantu, and a fumble return for a touchdown by Sebastian Flores.

  • 9-14-2020 Varsity Football vs. La Pryor

Wow again. Our young men played amazing last Friday, September 11th. I couldn’t be any prouder of the way the guys were flying around and playing physical football. Our football team took out some frustration and kept the effort going all 4 quarters. We were able to score in all three phases of the game. We scored 7 offensive touchdowns, 1 defensive touchdown, and 1 kickoff return for a score. We are proud of our Seniors; they are truly leading the team and Friday night was a culmination of that. We are making progress on the backs of these Seniors, leading the younger guys and showing them The Way.

  • 9-8-2020 Lytle JV Football vs Natalia 9-3-20

Last Thursday, September 3rd, the Lytle JV football team hosted Natalia. The score ended up being 46-6 in favor of the Mustangs. The score doesn’t show the Lytle Pirates fight and “no quit” mentality! Jake Guevara led the team on offense and defense! We were able to move the ball against Natalia’s JV, but we came up short of the endzone a few times! JV will get back to work these next few weeks in hope of improving day in and day out!

  • 9-7-2020 Varsity Football at Natalia

What a game last Friday night, September 4th, exactly the type of football you would expect for a Legacy Bowl. Our guys played with a lot of heart and passion for our school and community. The outcome didn’t turn out in our favor, as we had some self-inflicted turnovers late in the game. I am proud of the effort and improvement in our guys. Some of the standouts in the game were Logan Wilson who was all over the place in the first half, one interception, 3 receptions for 32 yards, and a couple of pass breakups before leaving the game due to an injury. Rylan Wagner had 21 tackles and is showing why he is the leader of the defense. Carson Aldridge had 142 rushing yards, and a touchdown, 72 passing yards.
