Pirate LookOut! Program

  • Pirate Lookout ProgramOur Pirate LookOut! Program is for parents and community members who would like to help us monitor our campus grounds as an extra layer of safety.

Steps to become a Pirate LookOut:

Step 1: Please complete the Pirate LookOut Application through this link: https://forms.gle/9dMDeHPkM2JZdWSM6

Step 2: A criminal history background check is required for all school volunteers who would like to be a Pirate LookOut! Please visit the Lytle ISD Administration Building, 15437 Cottage Street, Lytle, Texas 78052 between 8am and 4pm to complete the background check. A driver’s license will be required.

Step 3:  Once approved, you will receive an email from Lytle ISD Administration notifying you that you can begin.  A Pirate LookOut trainer will meet with each volunteer to review the procedures in place for the program.

Pirate LookOut! approved volunteers agree to:

    • Bring your driver’s license to pick up an orange vest and ID badge provided at the campus front desk during the LookOut! shift.

    • Move around the campus exterior grounds on foot - priority areas are outside the school buildings.

    • Keep conversations with parents or students to a minimum so you can continue to look for potential risks trying to access the school.

    • Before investigating SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY THAT IS CONCERNING, please call our Lytle ISD School Resource Officer, Kaitlyn Banks at 210-478-0055, the campus front desk, or in the event of an emergency, call 911.

    • At the end of your shift, please return the orange vest and ID badge to the campus.

If you have any questions, recommendations, or concerns, please contact William Cross at 210-478-0039 or email at william.cross@lytleisd.org.

Thank you for helping to keep our campuses safe.
