  • 4-8-2022 Golf District Tournament

On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, the golf team took part in the District Tournament in Pleasanton. We fell a bit short of our goal of Regionally qualifying. However, the season was a success and our golfers, Khye Stewart, Hudson Mask, Bryson Duty and Cort Haltom, carried themselves with respect and pride. A testament to their parents, teachers, and all those that have helped raise them.

  • 3-22-2022 Golft at Navarro Tournament

Yesterday, March 21, 2022, the Golf team took part in the Navarro Tournament in Seguin, TX. Sounding like a broken record, we played though the weather, rain in the morning and 25 mph winds in the afternoon. We left Seguin a few hours before the severe weather hit the area. The boys played well in their last tournament before the District Tournament in Pleasanton.

  • 3-9-2022 Golf Tournaments Recap

On February 28, 2022, the golf team traveled to the Smithson Valley Tournament at River Crossing Golf Course. The boys battled frost delays and windy conditions. On Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Comfort Tournament at The Buckhorn Golf Course, the weather wasn’t any better. 30 mph winds and 38 degrees at tee time stifled the entire field. The boys battled and got through both rounds. I am enormously proud of their effort.

  • 4-8-2021 27-AAA District Golf Tournament

What a great day for the Lytle golf program, April 7th. This is the 1st time ever that a Lytle boys’ Golf team has qualified for the Regional tournament. In the past, Lytle had girls’ teams and individuals qualify. The team of Khye Stewart, Hudson Mask, Bryson Duty and Connor Redding shot a 406. This was good enough for a runner-up finish at the 27-AAA tournament. Khye Stewart won the 2nd place medal in a 1-hole playoff. Please congratulate these young men as they prepare to represent us in Kerrville on April 21 and 22.

  • 3-1-2021 Alamo Heights Golf Tournament

I was pleased with our showing at the AH tourney. With 83 golfers in the field, Connor Redding’s 93 (T-40) was his very first High School tournament. He overcame obvious jitters and settled in to shoot a decent round. Hudson Mask (T 72) overcame the weather to card a 108. Khye Stewart (T-59) was not very happy with his 98. He left a bunch of strokes out there with his play around the greens. He’s the kind of player that will put in the work to get better. Bryson Duty rounds out our team. Bryson just finish a terrific basketball season and we can’t wait to get him our here. We are looking forward to a very busy March as we get ready for our district tournament on April 7th at Pleasanton GC.

On Wednesday, October 28th, 2 members of the golf team, Khye Stewart and Connor Redding, participated in the Fredericksburg Battlin Billie fall tournament at Lady Bird Johnson golf course. The boys hit their first shot in howling winds and temperature in the high 30’s. Thankfully the weather got a little better and the golfers completed their round. These young men represented Lytle with pride. They respected the course, the elements and the competition. This concludes our fall season. Due to Covid-19 tournaments are hard to come by. We are looking forward to a full Spring schedule.

10-19-2020 Lytle Golf at Alamo Heights Fall Tournament

On Monday, October 19th, Khye Stewart and Bryson Duty participated in the Alamo Heights Fall Tournament held at Fort Sam Houston Golf Course. It was our 1st tournament of the season and both young men represented Lytle well. Their scores were good enough for 39th and 40th place out of a field of 55. We have other golfers that are waiting until their current sport seasons are completed. Our next tournament is Wednesday Oct. 29th in Fredricksburg. We are looking forward to having a full team (5) by the time the Spring season comes around. Go Pirates and…….Grip it and Rip it.

  • Golf team visits Elementary golf club

    3-6-2020 Elementary Golf Club

Yesterday, March 5th, the golf team was invited to visit the elementary golf club. It seems the golf club had a “shift change” so there were a bunch of new faces. The weather cooperated and we were able to go outside and see them “whack” the ball around. Many of those kiddos were very impressive. I hope to see them on the team in the near future. Shout out to Ms. Pritchard and all she’s doing with these wonderful “future” linksters.

  • 3-3-2020 3-A Regional Preview at Scott Schreiner Golf Course

Great day for Lytle golf! Yesterday, March 2nd, the golf team competed in the 3-A Regional Preview at Scott Schreiner golf course in Kerrville. This was the 1st time our "complete" team played together. The team finished in 3rd place. John Martinez won the tournament with a 73. This victory was John's fourth High School tournament win. Bryson Duty shot a personal best 92 in just his 3rd competitive tournament. Khye Stewart also carded a 92. Jace Harris (121) and Hudson Mask (123) rounded out our team scores. It was nice to look out and see all of our players grinding out a round of golf. All golfers were well mannered and poised, not an easy feat when things aren't going your way on the course. We received many compliments on our boys and how they conducted themselves out there, a testament to their families.
