  • 4-13-2022 Tennis Season Comes to an End in Kerrville

Starting Monday, April 11, 2022, Tennis Regionals for 3A began with some fierce competitors from across the region. The tournament started a bit later, due to the weather from the previous night. Lytle competed throughout the entire day but finished with their heads held high by making it farther than in previous years in Boys Doubles, Diego Rangel and Michael Tomlinson, and Mixed Doubles, Elias Hernandez and Amanda Soto. Both of these teams ended their play just short of the semifinals respectively.

The 2nd place match was a battle between two Pirates, Zachary Bradshaw and Kyle Mueller and did they put on a great performance with one big shot after another and both boys playing their hearts out. In the end we had two that stood out and earn a 3rd place finish in the mixed doubles division, congratulations to Chessa Harley-Mapes and Hector Anaya.

    3-5-2021 Tennis at Jourdanton Tournament

Yesterday, March 4th, the tennis team traveled to Jourdanton to participate in their Varsity tournament. We moved up all Junior Varsity to Varsity for this week as the Junior Varsity division had too many teams. I was proud of our Junior Varsity athletes as they were a bit intimidated playing up against Juniors and Seniors but they all played well and had some great moments during their matches.

  • 3-2-2020 Stockdale Tennis Tournament

This past week we traveled to Seguin, Texas to play in the Stockdale Tennis Tournament. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control the JV segment of the tournament was cancelled and instead of finding a replacement tournament (difficult to do) we moved all JV players up to varsity. Although many of them were scared at first to compete against varsity level players, our Pirates did very well and picked a few victories along the way. Coach Cameron and I are very proud of the progress of our athletes and look forward to the second half of the season. We travel this week to San Antonio for the Mighty Eagle Invitational. Go Pirates!
