    There was a playoff-type atmosphere in the air last night, April 26, 2022, at the hill. Great pitching performances and defensive plays, squandered opportunities, and clutch hitting.

    Coach Bippert and I are old and, well I guess I will say experienced. However, we get a shot of youth and excitement every time we are around the Junior High baseball team! It's like watching “The Sandlot” every day.

  • 4-20-2022 Pirate Baseball Stumbles Against Karnes City

    On the trip down, we thought our bus was breaking down...then it didn't. When we arrived in Stockdale, we thought we were going to get rained out...then it stopped. And, after our 6th inning rally, we thought we had the game won...but we didn't.

    ytle Junior High baseball chalked up 2 more wins last night in Pearsall. This group of Junior High baseball players continues to impress us with their tenacity and grit. They are fun to watch.

  • 4-12-2022 Pirates Defeat Dilley in 5 Innings

    Pirate baseball hosted the Dilley Wolves last night, April 11, 2022, and came away with 2 victories. Caleb Wood and Colin Wood combined for the win on the mound, surrendering 2 hits on the night. The Pirate offense scored 15 runs on 6 hits and 14 walks.

  • 4-12-2022 Both Junior High Baseball Teams Win Natalia Tournament

    Junior High Lytle Pirates kicked off its season this past weekend, April 9, 2022, at the Natalia Tournament. Both 7th and 8th Grade teams left as Champions of the Natalia Tournament.

  • 4-11-2022 High School Baseball Natalia and Cotulla Recap

    Lytle Varstiy Pirates grabbed an early lead on its way to a victory over Cotulla on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. Lytle Varsity Pirates scored a single by Colin Wood, a double by Malakai Castro, and an error in the second inning.

  • 4-4-2022 High School Baseball at Poth

    On Friday, April 1,2022, Pirate Baseball traveled to Poth and secured their 5th District win. Caleb Wood threw a complete-game shutout and delivered the only run he would need by blasting a solo Homerun over the left-field fence in the 3rd inning. Caleb was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored at the plate.

  • 3-30-2022 High School Baseball Falls to Jourdanton

    Pirate baseball fell to Jourdanton last night, March 29, 2022, at Jourdanton. Justin Deleon struck out 9 and went the distance on the mound. Jair Flores drove in the first run on a 2-out double in the first inning scoring Zakry Placido. The Pirates took a 3 - 2 lead in the 3rd inning on a 2 RBI double by Caleb Wood scoring Malakai Castro and Zakry Placido. Late defensive woes proved to be the difference.

    The Pirates hosted the Badgers from Karnes City on Friday, March 25, 2022. Caleb Wood struck out 9 and threw a complete-game shutout to get the win on the mound. Offensively, we scored all 3 runs in the 3rd inning on 3 hits and 2 walks.

    After 9 long innings of baseball, Malakai Castro singled in Mason Davila to give the Pirates an emotional home victory over the Poteet Aggies.

  • 3-9-2022 Lytle Baseball Falls to Pleasanton

    Last night, March 8, 2022, the Pirate baseball team traveled to Pleasanton for a non-District ball game. The weather was cool and so were our bats and gloves. We gave up 9 errors and managed only 3 hits. Needless to say, our baseball team is struggling.

  • 3-4-2022 Pirate Baseball at South Texas Slugfest

    It was not a great day to be a Pirate...but, the sun came up this morning and the world did not end just because we lost 2 games.  We are learning quite a bit about our team in these losses.  Progress was made between game 1 and game 2.  Our communication is getting better.  Our preparation is getting better. We will keep improving.

  • 3-2-2022 Pirate Baseball Humbled by La Vernia

    In the game of baseball, there are things you try to avoid that we call "freebies".  On defense, "freebies" are errors, walks, and stolen bases.  On offense, these are strikeouts. Last night, we gave La Vernia too many "freebies". They outplayed us in these categories and the score is the result.
