7-13-2023 Calyssa Sevier Represents Lytle In Arlington at the TGCA Convention
Calyssa Sevier was the first female to play in the TGCA Basketball All Star game in Arlington for Lytle High School. It was such a great experience for her and she represented Lytle with pride. She had 11 points and played great defense. We were both recognized before the game. Calyssa received an All Star uniform, a patch for her lettermen jacket and a t-shirt. She got to play with some of the top players in the 1A-4A divisions from the State of Texas.

3-21-2023 Boys Varstiy Basketball Final Recap
I just wanted to relay this final recap for our historical season. Not only did this group of Seniors lead us back to the State tournament after a 99-year absence, but they also cleaned up all the awards for District 28-3A.

3-7-2023 Pirate Baseball Wins Big Against West Campus
Pirate Baseball took care of business last night, March 6, 2023, versus the West Campus Cougars. Nicholas Pacheco picked up the win and threw 4 good innings. He was relieved by Jair Flores in the 5th inning. Sporting their brand-new black pinstripes, the Pirates rattled off 12 hits, sending the Cougars home in 5 innings. Toby Davila had a big night at the plate, going 3 for 3 with 2 triples and 2 RBIs. Colin Wood and Roland Cordova were both 2 for 3.

3-6-2023 Pirate Baseball 5 Game Recap
This young baseball team continues to grow and improve each week. We still have many things to learn but we are encouraged by how we handled adversity in our Week 2 contests. These guys have fun playing the game of baseball.

3-1-2023 Varstiy Girls Basketball Season Comes to an End!
The girls took a win on Friday night, February 24, 2023, against Rio Hondo, 69-48, in front of a great crowd in Seguin. We scored 31 points in transition and had 19 steals. Our defense was too much for the Valley team to handle. We were up 35-17 at the half and never looked back. Fizz Hutton picked up 500 steals for her career here in Lytle she got the name pick a pocket Fizz! We are so proud of her and this great accomplishment. We had a quick turnaround for our game on Saturday, February 25, 2023, against Columbus at 1:00 PM.

03-01-2023 Varsity Boys Basketball are Area and Regional Quarter Champs
Over the past few days, the Lytle Pirates beat Columbus 93-68 to become Area Champions on Friday, February 24, 2023. It was a great team playoff win and everyone got to play. Last night, February 28, 2023, was the game of the night in 3A. The Lytle Pirates took on the Poth Pirates in an epic rematch.

2-22-2023 Girls are Regional Quarterfinal Champs Heading Back to the Regional Tourney!
The girls beat Cotulla last night, February 21, 2023, in Seguin 69-59 with a great crowd to make a return to the Regional Tournament starting on Friday. We have been in the “Sweet 16” for two years in a row.

2-22-2023 Lytle Pirates are Bi-District Champions
This past Monday night, February 20, 2023, the Pirates took on South San West Campus in a Bi-District playoff game. The Pirates won 87-52 to become Bi-District Champions. Although we played on a holiday, the Lytle Community showed up and showed out.

2-20-2023 Lady Pirates Claim Area Championship
The girls beat Hallettsville, 85-69, on Friday night, February 17, 2023, in a packed Seguin gym to become Area Champions. They are moving on to the 3rd round of playoffs, the Regional Quarterfinals. We had a rough night shooting and we were 32-68, but the crazy part is we still scored 85 points.

The girls traveled down to Karnes City last night and had a big win over the Badgers 87-30 from the tip off they could not handle our press and the aggressiveness we brought to the court.

2-8-2023 Varsity Boys Basketball Defeat Crystal City and Named District Champions.
Last night, February 7, 2023, was one for the ages! The gym was packed and rocking at the start of the girls' game, and the momentum continued into the boys' game. With a District Championship on the line, the Pirates showed up and showed out. They beat Crystal City 93-57.

2-8-2023 Varsity Girls Basketball Goes 10-0 in District Play.
What a night in Lytle last night, February 7, 2023! We had a playoff atmosphere with a packed gym and some were even standing. The Lytle community really came out to support both teams. I remember the girls saying, “Man, it's already packed. Usually, it is not like this until the halftime of our game.”

On last Monday, January 30, 2023, the Junior High Girls faced off with Crystal City in their last game of the season. These girls have improved so much this season and we are so proud of the growth that they showed.

Last week, the Pirates went 2-0 in District play, beating Dilley 108-44 on January 6, 2023, and Hondo 80-58 on February 3, 2023.

2-6-2023 Varisty Girls Basketball is the 3-Peat District Champs!
The girls clinched the District Title on Friday night, February 3, 2023, in Hondo in front of a packed gym. The girls made history once again by winning the title three years in a row. This group is one of a kind and we are so proud of them. Their hard work has definitely paid off. We beat Hondo 79-51.
