    So many in our district have had the privilege of being a part of Calyssa's learning journey here at Lytle ISD, so for Feel Good Friday, I wanted to give each of you a chance to experience her Signing Day celebration.

  • 11-9-2023 National Early Signing Day for Calyssa Sevier!

    Yesterday, November 8, 2023, was a very special day for Lytle High School as we watched Calyssa Sevier sign for a full Athletic Scholarship to Division 2 Midwestern State University. We have not had an athlete in the last 12 years be able to sign early on this day. Calyssa continues to make history and break records and her basketball season does not start until tomorrow.

  • 5-3-2023 Boys Track Regional Qualifiers

    We have a State Qualifier in the 800-meter run; 2nd place, Robert Wagner.  He will be running in Austin on May 11th at the State Meet.

  • 5-2-2023 Lessons from the Rings - Regional Edition "One Inch Shy"

    This weekend at the Regional Meet, Lytle Throws had three young men represent the Pirate Nation. The weekend of competition began for me on Thursday, April 27, 2023, as I went to Frank Carrillo’s visitation that evening. While I was there, I saw two former members of the Lytle Throwing Team. Scott Smith, who wore toe shoes to practice every day and came from Ft. Campbell, Kentucky and Jake Martinez. Both of whom threw for Lytle in the early teens. It is nice to win competitions, but these are just the beginnings of making a life which benefits our society.

  • 5-1-2023 Lady Pirates at Regional Track Meet

    “Wow! Did we just do that?”  is what went through my head as Moriah was crossing the finish line as the anchor leg in the 4x400m relay 10 minutes after placing 3rd in the 1600m on April 29, 2023.  Not only did she become the first Lytle track athlete to get on that Regional Track Medal stand 3 times, but she also helped the team set another school record of 4:02.88, bettering it by 5 seconds. This after placing 2nd in the 800m earlier in the day, breaking her own school record set last week at Area (2:20.28) with a time of 2:18.59 and becoming the first female to make it State since Natalie Cortez did it in '14 in the 1600m and 3200m.

  • 4-21-2023 Pirate Regional Track Qualifiers

    I am proud to announce the Boys 27-28 3A Area Champions and Regional Qualifiers. All these young men will go to Regionals in Seguin on April 28 and 29, 2023.

  • 4-21-2023 Lady Pirates at Area Track Meet

    Congratulations to the Lady Pirate Track athletes for finishing as District 27/28 Area Runner-ups, April 19, 2023. Especially for Samantha Mujica, Marissa Lopez and Moriah Gomez who each had a huge day as they either set Personal or School Records.

  • 4-14-2023 Boys Varstiy and Junior Varstiy District Champions

    These young men accomplished great things on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, and on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the District Meet in Cotulla.

  • 4-14-2023 Lady Pirate Track at Distrcit 28-3A Meet

    Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity girls captured the DISTRICT 28-3A TRACK TITLES in Cotulla on Thursday night, April 13, 2023. The Varsity girls had to come from 30 points down, 113-83, going into the last 3 events, 200m, 1600m, 4x400m, to capture their title. After great showings in the 200m and 1600m we managed to tie it at 119 heading into the 4x400m.

  • 3-31-2023 8th Grade District Track Meet

    Last night, March 30, 2023, the 8th Grade boys wrapped up their track season at the District Track Meet down the road in Natalia! There were a lot of great moments of success and an extremely high bar set for the upcoming class! The boys had multiple top 5 finishes along with some personal records all throughout the night!

  • 3-31-2023 Lady Pirate Track at Natalia Meet

    The Lady Pirate Track team traveled down the road to Natalia on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, to try out their new track. Both teams captured first and Senior Moriah Gomez had another big day. Calyssa Sevier broke our 14-year-old 400m school record and held it for 3 minutes, then in the very next heat Moriah Gomez ran a 59.56 and broke that, becoming my first sub 1 min girl quarter miler. She, along with everyone else, had a wonderful day and enjoyed running in their new facilities.

  • 3-30-2023 Boys Varsity and Junior Varstiy at Natalia Tack Meet

  • 3-27-2023 Varsity and Junior Varsity Boys at Poth Track Meet

    This Track season has been utterly amazing watching our boys compete. We are still improving and still getting better.

  • 3-24-2023 Lytle Lady Pirate Track at Poth Meet

    The Lady Pirate track team traveled to Poth on Thursday March 23, 2023. The Varsity girls finished 4th and the Junior Varsity girls placed 2nd.

  • 3-23-2023 Lady Piate Track at Dilley Meet

    Varsity Girls finished in 3rd place and Junior Varsity Girls finished in 1st at the Dilley Wolves Meet on March 8, 2023, before Spring Break.

  • 3-20-2023 Junior Varsity Boys Track at Wolfpack Relays

    The Junior Varsity Boys Track Team earned 1st Place in the Wolfpack Relays. The coaching staff is very proud of these young men. It was great to see our boys compete.
