  • 11-28-2020 Lytle Cross Country at State

On Monday, November 23rd, the lads and lady completed a season which was always one step away from never happening. Other States cancelled their seasons, postponed their seasons or had major changes for their season. On the 100th year of the UIL, the leadership of the organization fought for the athletes and gave them an opportunity to compete. Compete we did and Coach Ruiz in his guidance limited our venues of competition to four sites for 9 races.

  • 11-9-2020 Region IV Cross Country Meet in Corpus

First, our thoughts and prayers go out to senior Kyle Mueller who will have surgery early Tuesday morning for a fractured arm that occurred 150 meters from the starting line, November 9th. He had a great start but was tripped up from behind and tried to support his fall with his left arm and fractured it just below his elbow. We are hoping for a quick recovery.

Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams as they both were crowned 27-3A DISTRICT CHAMPIONS. They now get to travel to Corpus for the Regional Meet on November 9th in hopes of finishing as a top 10 individual of a non-advancing team or finish in the top 3 as a team to advance to State.

  • 10-25-2020 Junior High Cross Country District Meet

We had an opportunity to run. It wasn’t like any other year that I have been associated with. Many families felt it better to wait and distance themselves from the possibility of infection, but UIL and our administration gave us an opportunity. Saturday under a cool and cloudy day with cool temperatures we ran the 27-3A District Meet on the Poth course. We had no chip timing system so it was an old school Meet with cards. I know how they finished overall but I haven’t got the results of how they finished in their grade level if they didn’t receive a medal. I can say they all ran faster than they did on the 3rd of October.
