  • 9-19-2021 Lytle Cross Country at Islander Splash

It was a hot, humid day on Saturday, September 18, 2021 as the Lytle Pirate Cross Country team traveled down to Corpus for the Islander Splash. It was a chance to run at the regional course that we hope to get back to on October 25th.

  • 9-18-2021 Varsity Volleyball vs. Natalia

The Lady Pirates played with heart, desire and lots of determination against the Mustangs of Natalia, September 17, 2021. Although we lost in three sets, the scores do not reflect how the well these ladies played and came together after #7 Aleman went down with a knee injury early in the first set. #1 Lopez stepping up and filling in as a setter. The Lady Pirates had to readjust their strategy to work together to battle the ‘Stangs. Going into the third set, teamwork and trust kept the Pirates giving the ‘Stangs a run for their money but serving errors ended our fight with a loss.

  • 9-17-2021 7th Grade Football vs Natalia

It’s RIVALRY WEEK and the 7th Grade football team started things off in the right direction! With Weston spinning the ball to Ethan and good old Seabass racking up those rushing yards behind the teams blocking your Pirates put a good old fashioned whooping on Natalia last night, September 16, 2021.

  • 9-17-2021 8th Grade Football vs Natalia

Last night, September 16, 2021, the 8th Grade football team played their first home game of the season against our rival Natalia Mmustangs. The team came out a bit overwhelmed with the intensity of the game and the GREAT crowd in the stands. The team settled down and dominated the Mustangs with a smothering defense and some great plays on offense. The defense was led by linebackers Christopher Jacques and Noah Merrell, defenseive backs Antonio Castro and Travis Norton, left midfielders Devin Cordova and Bryce Smith. Our offense is fun to watch. Toby Davila and Chase Guevara make big plays because they get great blocking from Lee Mills, Diego Reyna, and Princeton Menchaca. Due to an injury, Jesus Garza filled in admirably on the offensive line. Our “hogs” Devin Cordova, Isaiah Delgado, Noah Merrell, and Thomas Rubal had another big game.

  • 9-17-2021 Junior Varsity Football at Natalia

The Junior Varsity Pirate football team travelled down FM 132 last night, September 16, 2021, and lost a close, hard-fought game to that blue team. We talked about execution and effort all week in practice. Our effort was acceptable but our execution was not. You never know which play or plays will be the difference in a close game. Last night, our offense failed to execute our 3rd down plays in the first half to keep our drives alive. Our opponent capitalized on this and jumped out to a 6 - 0 lead. Abel Garcia ran the ball well behind fine blocking by William Davalos, Jair Flores, Nicco Perez, and Damien Ramon.
